Privacy Policy
This policy describes how the iOS app handles information. It applies to builds distributed through the App Store and TestFlight.
Summary
- We do not create accounts or ask you to sign in.
- Lesson progress (for example XP, hearts, completed exercises) is stored on your device only.
- The app downloads lesson audio over HTTPS from our content server so you can hear Swiss German examples.
- App Store and TestFlight builds do not record your voice or upload recordings.
- We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or sell your data.
Information we process
On your device
The app stores learning progress locally (SQLite / app storage) so your streak and lesson state survive between sessions. That data stays on the device unless you delete the app or clear its data.
Over the network
When you play sentence audio, the app requests audio files from our server (HTTPS). Those requests may include technical metadata typical of any HTTPS connection (for example IP address, timestamps, and the sentence identifiers needed to fetch the right clip). We use that only to serve audio and operate the service.
Microphone and voice
App Store / TestFlight builds: recording is disabled. The app does not collect voice recordings from you for those builds.
Developer-only device builds used for internal testing may include a practice recorder; that path is not part of the App Store product described here.
Tracking
We do not track you across apps or websites for advertising. We do not use App Tracking Transparency for ads because we do not run ads.
Children
The app is a language-learning tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described above (on-device progress and audio downloads).
Changes
We may update this policy when the app changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
